Modifies or clarifies the SMR code as required by the individual Service.
The primary objective is to establish uniform policies, procedures, management tools, and means of communication that will promote inter-Service and integrated materiel support within and among the military Services and PAs.

The Service proponent will provide the necessary oversight to implement the development and maintenance of SMR codes defined herein.
